Description of Tool Usage:

This tool is a main landing gear axle thread protector used to protect the (MLG) axle and its external threads during wheel, brake and bearing maintenance. A32098-12 is used on airplanes that have had overhauled axles and have undersized axle threads. The A32098-12 equipment consists of a A32098-13 thread protector assembly and a A32098-3 axle protector assembly, both contained in a storage box.
